With 2018 rolling out and everything at the office winding down (or up, depending on what your stress level looks like right now), I sat down and went through all of my submissions for the year.
My goal was to make sure I had compiled everything into my (very detailed and organized, I assure you) Excel sheet. Then, I told myself, “Amanda, you’re going to respond to every single submission you received before November 1. That’s the only thing you absolutely have to accomplish before you head out for the year.”
And you know what?
Ya girl did it.
So, head’s up: If you’re an agent and you sent me a manuscript before November 1 of this year, I have either passed, told you I was moving forward, or promised a follow-up in the new year. Again, this is for submissions from before November 1, 2018 only. I’m still chugging along on submissions received after that.
If you haven’t heard from me, it means I don’t know I have it, so give me a poke! I won’t promise to get to it before the end of the year (spoiler alert: because I… won’t), but I will make sure it’s high up on the priority list for the beginning of 2019.
So, that’s all! It’ll probably be the only news I have left for the year. Everybody, make sure you have a happy holiday; turn off your push notifications, throw up that out of office automatic response, turn off your alarms. TAKE A BREAK!
