The name’s Amanda and I’m a Nuyorican writer, editor, and vigilante-in-training. A sleepy, native Brooklynite, I currently commute into Manhattan from Long Island. Aquarius, Gryffindor, and chaotic drama queen of some renown. The spirit of an overzealous anime protagonist lives within me.
I received my MFA in creative writing from Fairleigh Dickinson University and have been at Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers since the summer of 2016. Before all of that, I was a fast food manager, a copy clerk who occasionally designed wedding invitations (???), a wine tasting manager, a pop culture writer, an actual news writer, and a dedicated children’s bookseller. You can read more about my eclectic work history on my LinkedIn.
When I’m not reading or writing, I’m crying about Tony Stark, attending concerts on work nights, climbing things I shouldn’t, stuck in traffic on the GWB, traveling to Instagrammable places, or performing one-woman musicals for my dog.
