My name is Amanda and I’m a 26-year-old Nuyorican writer, editor, and vigilante-in-training. A sleepy, native Brooklynite, I currently live on Long Island somewhere on the border of Massapequa and Amityville. (Yes, I’ve been to the horror house.) Aquarius and Gryffindor of some renown.
I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Creative Writing and English Literature from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2015. Two years later, I graduated with my MFA. I’ve been at Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers since the summer of 2016 and was recently promoted from editorial assistant to Assistant Editor. Before all of that, I was a fast food manager, a copy clerk who occasionally made wedding invitations (???), a wine tasting manager, a pop news writer, an actual news writer, and a dedicated children’s bookseller. You can read more about my eclectic work history on my LinkedIn.
When I’m not reading or writing, I’m crying over the MCU, reading too many skin- and hair-care articles, attending concerts on work nights, climbing things I shouldn’t, attempting to develop athletic hobbies, or performing entire musicals by myself.
